Wait…
Before we begin if you want the latest RTX 3000 series gaming laptops and not the old ones with RTX 2000 GPUs (as a listing might include here) then check out these three best-selling RTX 3060 gaming laptops.
The reason why I didn’t include these in the post is that they’re the best-sellers not necessarily the best laptops for this budget.
But if you feel they’re best for you go ahead and get one of these.
Best Gaming Laptops Under 00
We’ll feature 11 gaming laptops here at least just so that the number looks round 11 best gaming laptops under 11 hundred dollars 😉
Enough with the lame jokes! Let’s check ’em out!
1.
Dell Gaming G3 15 3500
A great gaming laptop under $1100 from Dell that’s still quite relevant in today’s age of gaming laptops.
It is solidly built and quite heavy but that is to be expected of a gaming laptop.
This is probably because they need more power for intensive gaming but the laptop’s adapter is almost as big as the laptop itself.
A button on the keyboard turns on the backlit keys and there are ports for practically anything you could think of.
Although I’m not familiar with matte screens I think this particular model has a great matte texture that prevents glare quite nicely.
When trying to preserve battery life remember the brightness controls on the keyboard – something to consider when working with laptops.
The startup was a nightmare… but largely due to the fact that my internet was down – an essential requirement to get everything started.
Trying to add an additional user was equally frustrating since many of the same components had to be re-downloaded again and this led to the system freezing again.
Once past all that everything was a snap.
2.
Acer Nitro 5
Our top pick for best gaming laptop under $1100 that provides the most bang for the buck and gives you the best possible gaming performance at this price point.
Acer can only do so much with a $330 lower price through AMD’s new Renoir CPU architecture.
Other than packing a six-core Ryzen 5 versus an eight-core Ryzen 7 the Nitro 5 has 8GB of memory versus 16GB and a 256GB solid-state drive instead of a 512GB one.
Most people will not be able to install many games with the smaller SSD.
You can add even more storage with the SD card reader and the 2.5-inch drive bay.
The box comes with a cable as well as a second M.2 slot for another SSD.
Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1650 graphics are the least powerful among the gaming laptops so the Acer naturally falls short.
Because you won’t see frame rates much faster than 60fps the IPS panel keeps its refresh rate at the standard 60Hz as opposed to 120Hz or faster.
3.
ROG Zephyrus G15 (2020)
ASUS Zephyrus G15 was probably the best gaming laptop in 2020.
Everyone was talking about it.
Even in 2022 it’s probably one of the best out there you can find under $1100.
At the time of writing this article this gaming laptop was under $1100 but it may have increased in price by the time you’re reading it so we apologize for that but if you ever find it in under $1100 jump on that deal!
An excellent laptop should be accompanied by an excellent monitor too.
The keyboard makes me feel as if I’m using a high-end laptop.
Upgrading the ram was a pain though.
When using your laptop with heavy software a cooling pad is essential.
Furthermore adding another stick of ram for dual-channel utilization will make Windows run better while multitasking.
Would I recommend it to a friend who needs a cheap and powerful laptop for business and editing software as well as affordable high-end gaming?
Absolutely!
4.
MSI GF75 17.3″
Compared to the GTX 1650 (Ti) which is usually found in similar-priced notebooks the GTX 1660 Ti is much faster.
Asus has done an excellent job here with the price-to-performance ratio.
The monitor is bright yet not overly saturated and the colors are nice and vivid.
Keep the laptop charged to experience the best.
I recommend using a second pair of RAM sticks for heavy-duty multitasking if you intend to run a demanding software program.
The single stick of ram is sufficient for operating multiple low-grade tasks at once.
As a result the installation of the ram on the laptop was difficult since the bottom panel is not module-based so you have to expose the entire motherboard to install the RAM.
Due to the fact that the bottom panel was slightly larger in size it was difficult to screw everything back in place and put the panel back up.
It has very nice switches and is a nicer keyboard than others I’ve seen in the mid-tier range.
When operating at half battery capacity (browsing) under low workloads the battery lasts for around 5 hours.
However if you are using the computer for extended periods of time with slow to moderate processing power it may get HOT.
The computer will begin to heat up after a few minutes so it is best to keep it plugged in at all times while working at full speed.
While initially booting up the machine the fans kick on quickly the laptop fans become moderately loud and as the workload increases the laptop will become uncomfortable.
To fix this issue I’d recommend that you get a good laptop cooling pad.
5.
HP OMEN 15
Even with its 1TB SSD 10th generation Intel processor and premium design the HP Omen 15 isn’t the most powerful laptop.
One of the most exciting aspects of the HP Omen 15 is that the laptop includes the latest Nvidia hardware.
It didn’t run old games well but was capable of running AAA titles reliably.
The battery-powered Death Stranding controller continues to deliver a solid and smooth performance even after several hours of playing with frames averaging between 80 fps and 90 fps.
It still keeps a solid frame rate of around 30fps even without power which is quality for most AAA console and PC titles.
Although the laptop makes quite a bit of noise the fan does not tend to get too loud when running.
6.
Asus TUF Gaming
“Gets insanely high scores on websites that compare all the laptops.
It’s ridiculously fast and powerful.
I use it for intense music production and video editing.
Absolutely love it had it for months now and it’s lightning fast.
It also has an available hard drive port to put in an additional hard drive I added 1TB of SSD so there’s now 2TB of SSD in it.
Fantastic deal for the price.
10/10”
Here’s what a user had to report about this laptop:
It’s great for work and single-player gaming.
The only comment is that it gets warm when you play a game with intense graphics.Generally it seems like a great computer but I did pick up a cooling pad to test it out.
Other than that it seems to work quite well.On comparison websites it ranked insanely high.
It’s a powerful and fast laptop. My favorite thing about it is how fast it is – I’ve had it for months now and it’s still as quick or faster than most programs.
You can also expand it further by adding a 500GB hard drive which I used in addition to the 1TB of SSD.
A User Sharing Experience
It remains an excellent deal at this price point.
7.
ASUS TUF A15
“Best gaming and streaming computer.
I am a CSR and this computer runs smoothly and when it come to gaming the graphics are spectacular! Totally recommend this computer.”
It’s got a great Ryzen 5 4600H processor that is great for editing videos as well as playing games.
With its 32GB DDR4 RAM you’re sure to enjoy almost everything you want to do on this laptop from playing games to editing videos and even 3D animation etc.
With its GeForce GTX 1650 you can expect frame rates in Fortnite similar to the ones below:
- Epic 1080p = 72.3 fps
- Epic 1440p = 44.1 fps
Taken from Notebookcheck
Its 1TB of SSD should be enough to store almost all the games you’d want to play on this laptop as well as some of your videos and photos.
But don’t clutter it too much till the point that it starts to slow down as a hard drive does.
8.
Asus ROG Zephyrus G GA502
“I bought this computer to have at my mom’s house as I am here caregiver.
I love my desktop at home and super happy with this laptop.
It plays my games sound for Zoom and has plenty of room for all my programs pictures and music.
Very happy recommend! Only drawback is no internal camera.”
As the Zephyrus G fires Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1080p in 1080p at 36 frames per second it is armed with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU and 6GB of VRAM.
I occasionally encountered some stuttering but it was overall solid.
When the Zephyrus G was benchmarked on the Rise of the Tomb Raider benchmark (Very High 1080p) it averaged 43 frames per second (fps) which is comparable to the mainstream gaming laptop average.
Hitman Ultra (EXTREME 1080p) did a decent job for the Zephyrus G hitting 73 frames per second.
Here is what a user had to report: I bought this computer to have at my mom’s house as I am her caregiver.
I live my desktop at home and super happy with this laptop.
It plays my games has great cam and sound for Zoom and has plenty of room for all my programs pictures.
Very happy recommend!â€
9.
Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-55)
“I am super stoked to be an owner of this Acer Nitro 5.
It has its quirks for sure but for me they are overshadowed by the perks.
If you are a relatively casual gamer I really think you will like this just as much as I am liking it.”
Graphics are handled by an Nvidia GeForce GTX 2060 GPU which is a great combination for a budget gaming laptop.
It has 6GB of VRAM.
I pushed the graphics to Ultra and crept through an abandoned English mansion in a fantasy English city in the video game Dishonored 2.
Despite the fact that I could make out a wooden ceiling fan and a marble floor the mansion was also filled with other textures.
In addition there was a soft realistic glow from leather chairs placed near light sources and a bright flash of light from a painting placed in a glass frame from ray-tracing.
10.
ASUS TUF FX505GT
“I usually have a larger laptop so this one is extremely light weight.
It’s also very fast.
I don’t do gaming but I do like to edit video and I like playing with multimedia.
It hasn’t glitched yet.
It’s still early for a thorough review.
I have only had it about month but I do like the color the feel of the buttons and the overall setup.
It’s definitely worth the value.”
Gigabyte Aero 15 Classic gaming notebook for example offers a 9th generation Intel Core i7-9750H processor fitted in ASUS TUF505GT-AH73.
With an impressive 26 cores this hexa-core CPU comes with 12 megabytes of cache a base frequency of 2.60 GHz that goes all the way up to 4.50 GHz in turbo mode and a thermal design power of 45 Watts.
If you’re looking for value for money you’ll be happy with Intel in this particular case.
It’s got better performance but it produces more heat and consumes more battery power.
Given the price ASUS TUF505GT-AH73 comes with a 4 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 one of the best video cards on the market at its price range.
You can see just how much of a difference it makes when the GTX 1650 is put side by side in benchmark tests.
11.
HP Pavilion 16.1″
16.1″ FHD 144Hz IPS Gaming Laptop | Intel Core i5-10300H | 16GB RAM | 512GB PCIe SSD Boot + 2TB HDD | NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti | Backlit Keyboard | Windows 10 + Woov Accessory Bundled
Intel’s Core i5-10300H processor offers good performance for 1080p gaming.
Furthermore the system features a 512 GB SSD and 16 GB of RAM.
We observed no significant performance drops in our Cinebench R15 continuous loop test conducted on the HP Pavilion Gaming 16.
This chip has four cores with eight threads.
The base clock is 2.5 GHz.
One core can turbo to 4.5 GHz.
The CPU can turbo all the way up to 4.2 GHz.
Despite the Intel processor is more powerful than AMD’s Ryzen 7 4800H in single-core benchmarks it falls far behind in multi-core benchmarks.
With very little performance degradation in Cinebench R15 continuous loop the HP Pavilion Gaming 16 scores an average of 871 points after 50 benchmark runs.
How to Pick Up a Gaming Laptop Under 00?
Now we’re going to do a little buyer’s guide type of thing to educate you a little on how you should pick the best gaming laptop under $1100.
What to look for etc.
CPU
Every CPU we’ve seen in this budget of eleven hundred dollars has been a decent processor for this budget but if in case you find something exceptional like a deal on a refurbished laptop that comes with a great CPU better than all of these here yes go ahead and jump on that deal.
GPU
The most powerful GPU we have encountered in this price range has been the RTX 2060.
I don’t think you’ll find a better GPU at this price.
But if you do find one please share it with us we’d love to have a look at your laptop’s specs and may even feature it here in this article.
RAM
In terms of RAM make sure that you get at least 16GB of it because I’m using my M1 MacBook Air and I don’t think its 8GB RAM would be enough for me especially when we think of futureproofing the laptop.
If you want a gaming laptop for under 1100 dollars that you can keep for a few years to come get at least 16GB of RAM which we think is the norm anyways.
Display
I’m really disappointed with my M1 MacBook Air’s 13-inch display as you may have read in my previous posts somewhere I complain about it almost in all of my posts where the M1 MBA is mentioned.
So make sure you do not make the same mistake of getting a tiny display and then regretting it because a small display makes your eyes hurt and feels like you’ve wasted your hard-earned money.
Storage
Storage is something that is dependent on your needs entirely.
For example I got the 256GB version of the M1 MBA which is more than enough for me because I’ll be using an external HDD with it to store the files so I wanted to spend the money on RAM instead of upgrading the storage which I can easily upgrade by an external HDD.
You can’t add external RAM to a laptop so upgrading my RAM made more sense to me.
Misc.
Here make sure you get a laptop that has the RJ-45 port as it is one of the most crucial things or ports that you need to look for in a gaming laptop because gaming over WiFi really sucks!
Other than that you can see what other ports you need but the RJ-45 is a must-have in my opinion.
