Bloggers Share The Best Laptops For Blogging
Let’s kick things off with Pam here, who blogs at WFHAdviser and uses a 13-inch 2017 Intel MacBook Pro.
Pam from WFHAdviser.com
Laptop Used: MacBook Pro 2017
I currently use a MacBook Pro with the following specs: 13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports, 2.5 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7 processor, and 16gb of memory. I am very satisfied with this laptop because it is light enough to carry with me for remote work while the screen is big enough to display multiple windows.
Michelle from Marcomm.io
Laptop Used: HP Envy 17
As president and interim head of content for a busy marketing agency, I write an average of 45 blogs per month for clients. I also travel quite a bit, so a lot of my writing is done on planes or in an Uber, so I need a laptop that is large enough to have two windows open at the same time–one for research and one for the copy document. I also need to write as quickly and efficiently as possible, so a full-size keyboard is a must. I went with the HP Envy 17. The 17 display is perfect for having two windows open simultaneously and the keyboard is exactly the same size as a full-size desktop keyboard. The only drawback to this laptop is the weight. Weighing in at 6 pounds, it’s very cumbersome for travel or for people who frequently cart their laptop around. Keep in mind that a brick weighs 6.4 pounds, so I’m literally carrying a brick with me everywhere I go.

Laptop Used: MSI GF Series
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU 4 GB GDDR6
- Intel Core i5 11th Gen 11400H (2.70GHz)
- 16GB Memory 512 GB NVMe SSD
- 15.6 1920 x 1080 IPS-Level 144 Hz 45% NTSC
- 14.13 x 9.99 x 0.85 4.10 lbs.
- 1 x HDMI (4K @ 30Hz)
- 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C / 3 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
The MSI GF series offers me a decent gaming laptop at a reasonable price. Well, being a techie I would love to spend more on a laptop but I currently don’t have the budget. At 1,000 dollars you are able to play pretty much any game at high and ultra settings. As Well as being able to run multiple programs at once. This laptop stays relatively cool even under load. So while using this laptop my legs are not heating up while I blog. Another feature is this laptop is pretty easy to upgrade like installing a larger SSD which is what attracted me to it in the first place.

Laptop Used: MacBook Pro 2018
- MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018)
- Processor: 2.9 GHz Intel Core i9
- Memory: 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4
I use MacBook Pro for my blog! It’s incredibly lightweight and portable, I can take it practically anywhere with me. Plus, the trackpad is extremely smooth and fast – it’s a real dream to use. The only downside for me is that it doesn’t support standard USB ports. So if you want to attach a keyboard or anything, you’ll need to buy a specific converter.

Laptop Used: Latitude 14-Inch 5410
Marcos here! A Project Management Consultant for Telecoms and an avid Blogger with several certifications and some years of experience under my belt. Below is my submission for your upcoming article. I am currently using a Dell 5410 Touch screen, and I absolutely love it! It has a sleek design, a 14.0-inch touch screen, and is relatively lightweight, making it perfect for traveling and blogging from almost anywhere. This smaller, sleeker 14-inch laptop lets you get to work faster than ever thanks to its scalable design and powerful performance. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor for added security. In terms of performance, it has been very solid. It quickly starts up and has no trouble handling multiple tabs and programs. The keyboard is also very comfortable to type on. Overall, I am pleased with this laptop and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new one. The battery life is also really good. I can usually get about 4 – 5 hours of use out of it before needing to recharge. Overall, I’m really happy with my Dell 5410 laptop and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new lightweight blogging laptop . I blog on WordPress and use Canva for image editing. I think the only reason why I would change is because I would like to use some image and video editing software soon so maybe a Mac works better. Not changing any time soon though.

Laptop Used: HP OMEN 15
- 125 GB of SSD
- 1TB of HDD
- 12 GBs of RAM
- i5 9th Gen processor
- Windows 11
- 4 GBs of dedicated graphics GTX 1650
During the day, I work as a Chemical Engineer. But once I get home, I start working on my side hustle: Blogs and article writing. I do it for fun. But it has proven to be a decent source of extra income. But to the matter at hand. My laptop. I own two of them. One is an HP OMEN 15. Yes. It is overkill for article writing. Consequently, I only have a single complaint performance-wise, which I’ll explain below. I purchase it specifically to work on my side hustle and to have a little gaming on the side. After all, we all need distractions. The only drawback is its battery life and weight. So, I only work at home as it is a painful endeavor to work anywhere else. That’s why I got another laptop. It has similar specs to my OMEN, minus the dedicated card and the HDD. It is a dell latitude with a 14” display. The great thing about it is that it is fast as hell, has amazing battery life, and it is light. Therefore, if I want to work from the local coffee shop, I just take this one. My best advice to those thinking about getting a laptop for blog writing is to aim for something with more than 8 Gbs of RAM and 125 Gb of SDD. This way, you can work as soon as you turn the laptop on! And, as writers, we know that every second counts. That’s my contribution, Omar. I hope you like it. If you do, I kindly ask you to link back to my fishing blog. This way, you will be helping me to grow my side hustle. I’ll leave the details below.

Laptop Used: Lenovo 300e
- Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N3450 @ 1.10GHz
- Installed RAM: 4.00 GB (3.83 GB usable)
- System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
- Pen and touch: Pen and touch support with 10 touch points
I have been using my laptop for blogging for over two years now and I love it. Being able to take this laptop with me wherever I go has been such a big help with mine and my kids’ busy schedules. Being a blogger takes more time than many people realize. Every extra minute that I can put into researching and writing blog posts helps. My favorite thing to do during the school year to optimize my time is to bring my laptop with me while waiting to pick up my kids after school. The feature on this model where I am able to fold the laptop into a tablet gives me the extra space I need to comfortably work in the car. I don’t even have to worry about plugging it in while I’m out since the battery lasts so well!
Reasons that I like it:
- Converts to a tablet
- Has a touch screen with Active Pen
- Lightweight at just over 3 lbs
- Extremely durable
- Battery lasts a long time
- Cost effective (I paid under $300)

Laptop Used: MacBook Pro 16 M1
I recently purchased a brand new laptop as my blogging business has grown: the MacBook Pro 16 M1 with 32 GB RAM, 1 TB of storage. As a blogger, I was looking for something that gave me a high amount of RAM as I often have 5-8 tabs and applications opened up at once. I also needed something with a large screen so I could hook it up to a monitor for some dual-screen action. It’s honestly performed flawlessly, I’m very happy with my purchase. The only downside is the hefty price tag.

Laptop Used: Acer Aspire ES 15CPU
- Intel Core i3-7100U (2.4GHz, 3MB L3 cache)
- 8GB DDR4 RAM
- 256GB SSD
Here is my experience with the Acer Aspire ES 15 which I have been using to blog for 2 years. I have owned this laptop for 2 years and have never had any problems with it. The battery life is great, meaning I can work outside my home for long periods. It is also fast, which is perfect for when I am trying to get work done quickly.I bought the laptop specifically for blogging and photo editing, and it has never let me down in either department. The screen is the perfect size for me (15.6 inches), and the visuals are always clear and bright. I could not be more pleased with my purchase.Even after 2 years, the laptop is lightning fast. It takes seconds to boot up, and switching between programs and tabs is instant. The only thing I would change is to get a bigger SSD so I could store my photos on it, but it’s not a dealbreaker.Overall, I love this laptop and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great all-rounder. It’s perfect for students, bloggers, or anyone needing a reliable computer that won’t disappoint them.

Laptop Used: ASUS ZenBook Q526
I use the ASUS ZenBook Q526. This 15.6 touchscreen is lightweight, has an impressive battery life and easily allows me to run programs such as Lightroom, Photoshop and Premiere. The built-in storage is plentiful as well. I know some bloggers choose something with a larger screen – I actually don’t prefer that, as I like to see what the majority of laptop users will be seeing when I style my posts. This is my second ASUS, and I went back because I was so happy with my first. While friends seemed to constantly need to update their laptop, mine kept right up with me and my needs for years.

Laptop Used: MacBook Pro
ASUS All The Way! I use ASUS products because they’re better than the best. My laptop has Intel Core I-3 11th Gen Processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 128 SSD Hard drive. It’s a beauty and all I need for my blogging needs.

Laptop Used: 2017 MacBook Pro 15
- Processor 3.1 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
- Memory 16GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
- Graphics Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB
My name is Isabelle Cheng and I have been a full-time travel and food blogger for ten years now. I have over 200K followers on Instagram as well as a travel blog. It still performs quite well still but I do notice more slow down when editing photos and videos. On rare occasions it will freeze when handling exceptionally large files. I could probably hold off on upgrading for a few years but I think it’s best to upgrade before a complete breakdown so as to ensure a smooth transition and no downtime for publishing to my blog and social media. I also don’t like how it doesn’t have a built in SD card slot and it is quite heavy. I plan on upgrading to the latest 14 MacBook Pro. The M1 pro chip is much faster than my current laptop’s so it can process large files for photos and videos with no lag or freezing. It also has a built-in SDXC slot so I won’t require an external SD card reader to transfer photos and video from my camera. As a bonus it’s also 1 pound lighter than my current laptop, which is great as one of the main benefits of being a blogger is being able to work from anywhere. A lighter laptop for travel that still performs well to process rich media files is key.
