MSI Gl65 Leopard Vs Lenovo Legion 5i
It’s been a little over a year since MSI released their Leopard line of laptops and in that time they’ve managed to make quite a name for themselves.
The laptops are known for their sleek design powerful hardware and long battery life.
Lenovo on the other hand has been in the business of making laptops for much longer.
They’re a trusted name when it comes to laptops and their Legion line of laptops is no different.
The Legion 5i is their latest offering and it’s a beast of a machine.
So what’s the difference between these two laptops? Let’s take a look.
Design
Regarding design both laptops are definitely on the premium end.
The MSI GL65 Leopard has a brushed aluminum finish with a black bezel around the screen.
It’s a good-looking laptop no doubt about it.
The Lenovo Legion 5i on the other hand has a more aggressive look.
It’s also made out of aluminum but it has a red-backlit keyboard and a red logo on the lid.
It’s a bit bulkier than the MSI laptop but it’s still a good-looking machine.
Battery life
Battery life is where these laptops really start to differ.
The MSI GL65 Leopard has a huge 82Wh battery which MSI claims will last for up to 8 hours of gaming.
In our testing we found that the laptop easily lasted for over 7 hours of gaming which is impressive.
The Lenovo Legion 5i on the other hand has a smaller 60Wh battery.
Lenovo claims that the laptop will last for up to 5 hours of gaming but in our testing we only got around 4 hours of gaming out of it.
Performance
When it comes to performance both laptops are very capable machines.
The MSI GL65 Leopard is powered by an Intel Core i7-9750H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU.
It’s a powerful combination that’s more than capable of handling any game you throw at it.
The Lenovo Legion 5i is also powered by an Intel Core i7-9750H processor but it has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU.
It’s not quite as powerful as the MSI laptop but it’s still a very capable machine.
Bottom line
So which laptop is better? It really depends on what you’re looking for.
If you want a laptop with a sleek design and long battery life then the MSI GL65 Leopard is the way to go.
However if you’re looking for a more powerful machine then the Lenovo Legion 5i is the better choice.
